On Yoga Body Shop’s (YBS) newly launched website, world-renowned poet Rumi is quoted: “Shine like the whole universe is yours.”

Located in the New York cities of Binghampton and Johnson City, the staff at YBS strives to help make that shine happen from the inside out in the form of a juice bar, which produces healthy beverages for their yogis — though walk-ins are welcome to the juice bar and lounges as well.

“The reason why we put the juice lounge with the studio is we wanted to provide a service for our yogis,” owner Linda Sambursky said. “Since inception, for me it’s always been about creating community and a safe place where people can go and take care of themselves.”

Sambursky said that the idea for a juice bar came from another Baptiste Affiliate studio in New York, but the YBS Juice Lounges remain the only businesses of their type in their immediate areas. “I knew there was need for it, and I knew that for yogis, it’s a lifestyle,” she added. “It’s healthy eating and taking care of your body, and they go hand in hand.”

juices-1632x1224According to the yogabodyshop.com, the juice bar and lounges at both studio locations offer organic fresh-pressed juices and smoothies, each hand crafted and made to order. “Buying organic supports chemical and pesticide-free practices that are healthier for our farmers and for our planet,” the site reads.

YBS is proud to use only organic ingredients in the making of its smoothies. Some flavors include banana almond, strawberry kale, and pineapple berry — and pumpkin pie is currently on the menu as a seasonal flavor.

The Food and Drug Administration recommends adults have three to five servings of vegetables a day — and juicing is one of the easiest ways to guarantee that amount is reached.

“This is all fresh, no syrups, no additives, no preservatives, so I know we’re on the right track here,” said Sambursky.

The YBS makes juicing simple and acceptable for its customers as well. Yogis are able to order their smoothies or juices before class and have them prepared and waiting for them when class ends, while other visitors to the lounge are able to call ahead of time and place orders for easy pick up.

There is even an option to have the smoothies delivered through a partnership with the service BingoEats.

In addition to the juice bar and lounge, each YBS location has state-of-the-art heating systems, locker rooms with showers, and a yoga boutique.

“I think the reason why the juice lounge is successful is because the people behind the scenes believe in customer service, and they believe in community,” said Sambursky.

The studio owner added that she’s drawn inspiration from the staff at Disney and their impeccable customer service reputation. “Our juice lounge and our yoga studio, we want to be remarkable,” she said. “Not just ordinary, remarkable, and I think that’s what makes us stand out.”
