MINDBODY, a leading technology platform for the wellness industry, announced the promotion of Josh McCarter to president of MINDBODY. McCarter joined MINDBODY as chief strategy officer following the company’s acquisition of Booker in 2018, where McCarter served as CEO and co-founder.
“Josh’s profound knowledge of the wellness industry and deep understanding of our brand make him the ideal person to accelerate and execute our national and global growth strategies,” said Rick Stollmeyer, CEO and co-founder of MINDBODY. “Josh is a proven leader that fully embraces our ambitious goal of creating the premier, global marketplace for fitness, beauty and wellness.”
In his new role, McCarter will continue to expand MINDBODY’s strategy, and be responsible for the company’s principle revenue generating activities including sales, marketing, customer services, business development, and corporate development.
“I’m humbled and excited to begin the next phase of my journey here at MINDBODY,” said McCarter. “I’m looking forward to being more directly connected with the critical components of the company that drive our customer growth strategy, as well as working with our partners and product team to innovate our offering to better serve the tens of thousands of customers that depend on our software to run and grow their businesses.”
Prior to Booker, McCarter was president and COO of Arbitech, a leading independent distributor of computer hardware that achieved $1B of sales under his leadership. McCarter previously served as COO of SpaFinder, managing the company’s technology, operations and strategic initiatives. Before joining SpaFinder, he served as vice president of international development and vice president of business development for the online automotive marketing leader, Autobytel.com. McCarter graduated Cum Laude from UCLA and received his Master of Business Administration from USC.
McCarter replaces Mike Mansbach, who endorsed the promotion, and chose to step down to spend more time with his family.
